Even in my company’s next generated of OPAC, we’ve clearly see the need for enhanced content, RSS feed, federated/ebsco search capability, borrower’s review.  Users are not satisfied to just search for  available title and made reservation, now they want to be able to subscribe to alert for new arrivals by SMS, article availability, have editor’s review, chat with other borrowers and check their account all within the PAC.
Patron have different expectation of the virtual library, put it simple as the author.
Library will be a place that I work, I live, I play and I research.

THE Boss is thrilled when I expressed my interest to pursue a MLIS qualification. A colleague recommended University of Illinois. This is a very good school but the cost and travel requirement kinda set me back.

Lunch for 12 Aug 2008

THE BOSS out of town, nobody talk to me ar… ‘cos THE BOSS and me are “roommates”. This a very boring day for me.

Lunch is Kiwi Fruit Salad and brown rice with leek.  Still have 3 more kiwi fruits, tomorrow will be another Kiwi day :

Brought the parents for dinner at Still Road 香港街珍記, we had the usually dishes that my father likes and I shared fish-head　bee hoon with mum. After which, we adjoured to recently famous Four Seasons Durians Cafe across the road. Since I’m amongst the few Singaporean who don’t eat durian so I can’t share the excitement or satisfaction one can derived from the King of the fruit. The 2 old folks looked pleased (I think) so maybe got hope to visit again.

THE MOTHER has requested me to get 2 more tickets to the Mid-Autumn Celebration service. Aiyo, already purchased 5 tickets (1 extra) still must buy more, really kia-su type.
